While you complain about the fact that Alfa Romeo is now ruined, please remember that Alfa needs this in order to survive the North American market. “Brand dilution” my arse, milkshakes melt, people change, and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! the automotive market is going to shift over time. Put on your adult pants/skirts/jorts and deal with it if you want the brand to survive.

Also, from the front page:

“... the Stelvio ... will have a Quadrifoglio version from the start, and will use the Giulia’s twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 making 505 HP/443 lb-ft (316 Nrp)of torque.”

If you don’t think this is rad then get of here.

I think it’s a pretty great looking vehicle. I know it’s nearing that terrible crossover threshold.... but if it has great driving dynamics, and is well powered; then I think it’ll work. Also, those wheels are awesome.

But it lacks the soal that old Alfa had which new Alfa is unable to have because only old Alfa can have it therefore I don’t wanna buy it.

First thought was that those wheels looked awesome. I’m looking forward to it.

You could always have an open bottle of motor oil and a smoke machine inside it to give that classic Alfa feel? And occasionally turn it off while driving, pull over, scream at the sky and the gods that have forsaken you, and then turn it back on keep driving? Is that close enough to driving an old Alfa??

If by soul you mean ‘breaks down all the time’ then I would rather it lack that.

I’d pour old motor oil directly onto the hot engine just so I can get that smell. And maybe I’ll crack the head gasket and mess with the serpentine belt. That’s soal!

Considering what the Cayenne did for Porsche, this is almost a MANDATORY vehicle. Alfa HAD to produce this car.

Maybe you can convert your windshield bottle to squirt an oil and coolant mixture directly on the exhaust manifold at the touch of a button.

I think for any brand to survive they’ll need to make an appealing crossover. This new Alfa fits the bill nicely.

I used to be the kind of person who would bitch about crossovers but then I realized I’m not buying one anyway so why should I give a fuck?

Anyways, one of my favourite cars now is the Porsche Macan, and I think a good reason why Porsche is around at all is because they made the Cayenne. I still think the first generation doesn’t look good but current models do look nice.

Thank you for this post. People whine so much about the dumbest things. If this SUV is the Alfa of SUV’s then it will be great. And it will make them more money than a car thus helping keep them in business. Sounds like everyone wins when that happens.

Ya, they need this so they can sell their auto only 500hp giulia and 270hp car that seems to be obeying Japanese gentleman’s agreement yet it’s 2016 and italian non-Q Giulia.

Their reveals have been a string of disappointments.

They need to reveal cars i’m interested in. I wanted to buy a Giulia, if it competes with the 235i. Not what they have shown. Or a coupe which they have not shown at all.

Honest question: were you in the market to buy a 4C or a Giulia? If yes, bummer. If no, quit your bellyaching because you weren’t going to buy one anyway.

I’m fine with this if they give us a Giulia wagon. Actually, I’m fine with this either way. Just give Alfa money for this kind of thing and we enthusiasts can enjoy the real Alfa stuff. Y’all need to stop bitching.

Actually I am in the market right now for a new car and I was waiting for the Giulia reveal because I was expecting a 235i/335i equivalent on that I can get for a lower-price or deal.

Instead I will remain waiting.

The car has everything i’m looking for, aside power. Their car that has power if I wait 4 years for depreciation has an auto only.

Serious disappointment.

I was expecting a car ~40k, around what I paid for my mustang premium, but lighter (check) and similar power to weight (nope).
